Revised SAT Format and Advice

The SAT evaluates your critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and communication prowess, alongside assessing fundamental classroom competencies like Reading, Writing, and Mathematics and how effectively you can apply them. Administered annually to over two million students across numerous testing centers, the revised SAT does not impose penalties for incorrect answers.

Test Structure

Reading Comprehension: 52 questions, 65 minutes allotted. Writing and Language Test: 44 questions, 35 minutes allotted. Mathematics (No Calculator allowed): 20 questions, 25 minutes allotted. Mathematics (Calculator allowed): 38 questions, 55 minutes allotted. Essay (optional): One topic, 50 minutes allotted.

Scoring

Reading and Writing section: Combined score ranging from 200 to 800. Mathematics section: Scored between 200 and 800. Three sub-scores, each ranging from 10 to 40:

Each question offers four options. Reading section comprises passages only; no sentence completion. There are five passages, each followed by 10-11 questions. Writing and Language Test:

The New SAT’s Mathematics section encompasses previous topics and additional ones. Trigonometry covers radian measures, definition of ratios (e.g., sine), relationships between ratios, and conversion between radians and degrees. Basic arithmetic on complex numbers, including multiplication, addition, division, and

subtraction. Essay

The topic presents a case study; personal opinion is not required. The essay should showcase your analysis of provided data. Total score out of 24. 50 minutes allotted, with a word count of 650-700 words.
