Animal rescue cases are increasing exponentially in Pakistan because of variable factors in the local community. All these cases have been reported and recorded by an emergency service called Rescue 1122 which is a non-profit organization in Pakistan dedicated to saving lives; humans and animals in need. This is also the only animal rescue service in Pakistan. Rescue 1122 has been operating in almost all provinces; Punjab, KPK, Balochistan, GB, and Even recently started in Sindh, Pakistan, and has the same helpline 1122.
The service has rescued over 1,000 animals till now in just the district of Dera Ghazi Khan due to an increase in population and lack of awareness about proper pet/animal care. Rescues range from domesticated pets like cats and dogs to wild reptiles such as snakes. People can report any suspected cases of animal cruelty or neglect without hesitating by just dialing 1122 from a mobile phone or landline number.
Animal rescue is our social responsibility
Animals are a part of our community and animal rescue is important to keep them safe. The neglected or abused animals/pets are provided foster homes for the remaining duration of their lives. There are different ways to help out an animal in need, by calling emergency service and helping directly if you can. An animal emergency requiring immediate help may be trapped in confined spaces; well, pots, caves, mountains, etc. We all have a combined/social responsibility as members of this society to care for those less fortunate than ourselves. Animal rescue by Rescue 1122 remained always a safe and professional way with extensive efforts by using advanced equipment of all kinds.
