What is NEBOSH?
The NEBOSH- National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health is a UK-based examination board offering different qualifications and courses in health, safety, environment, and well-being management.
Levels of NEBOSH courses
Over 50,000 people take a NEBOSH qualification every year. Health, safety, and environmental qualifications are globally recognized and taken by people working in all types of industries, as well as national and local government organizations.
Awards
NEBOSH’s Award-level qualifications provide a general understanding of health and safety principles and practice and provide a perfect introduction to other NEBOSH qualifications.
Certificates
NEBOSH’s Certificate-level qualifications provide an excellent foundation in health and safety for managers, supervisors, and people starting a career in health and safety.
Diplomas
NEBOSH’s Diplomas are professional qualifications for health, safety, and environmental practitioners.
Masters
Learning a Masters-level’s in partnership with the University of Hull. Open to all NEBOSH Diploma holders who are looking to further their learning in Health, Safety, and/or Environmental Management.
However, the NEBOSH National General Certificate is accredited by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) at Level 6 in the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF). For users in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, this is comparable to a vocationally-related qualification (VRQ) at Level 3 in the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). A Level 3 VRQ is comparable (in academic terms) to an A-Level.
Criteria
Both the NEBOSH National and International General Certificates do not require any previous health and safety knowledge but are a good basis for those looking to progress to a NEBOSH National Diploma. The National Diploma is a Level 6 qualification, equivalent to a full honors degree.
